Special Announcement from the Ridgway Fire Department!!!!!!!
Due to the corona-virus and the CDC mandates on gatherings the Ridgway Fire Department is postponing the Gun Bash until Saturday October 17. It is our hope that things are settled and in order by that time.
In addition to that, rentals of the Central Fire Station, Second Ward Fire Hall or the Carnival Lot are suspended until further notice. There is no way for us to accurately predict how long this suspension will have to be enforced. If you have made a deposit contact the individual that handled your rental and your deposit will be refunded. We cannot address these requests via Facebook.
After much discussion and consideration, The Ridgway Fire Department has deemed it necessary to cancel the 2020 Carnival due to COVID-19. The Carnival which would have been our 87th was scheduled for early July. When looking at Governor Wolfs plan for re-opening the state, we feel the risk of having the carnival outweighed the benefit. The safety of those that work at the carnival and those who attend is paramount so that far out-weighs the revenue we would generate. It is our hope to come up with some other activities a little later in the year that might provide the opportunity to come and enjoy the Fire Department food, but only time will tell. Our Gun Bash is still scheduled for October and we hope that things will have stabilized by that time. We trust you will understand our decision. We get tremendous support from our community and we are truly grateful for that
